This method can be customized using one or two strategically placed rows to create noticeable length and fullness.K-tips are installed as individual strands, allowing me to add movement and targeted fullness in areas that can be difficult to reach with a weft, including the sides, temples, crown and nape.Some clients need only one method, while others get their most natural result from a combination of wefts and K-tips. I’ll recommend what makes the most sense for your natural hair, lifestyle and goals—not simply the method that uses the most hair.

How do I know if I need one or two rows of extensions?

My Signature 1 XL Row Method is designed to create noticeable length and fullness with one strategically placed row. For many clients, it provides approximately the same amount of extension hair that may traditionally be spread across two standard rows—without the added attachment points and maintenance of a second row.Sometimes one really well-designed row is all you need. When your natural hair can safely support it, one XL row can create a full, seamless transformation while keeping maintenance simpler and protecting the health of your natural hair.Two rows are still the right choice for some clients—especially when adding significant length, blending thick or blunt natural hair, or when distributing the extension hair across two rows is the healthier option.You don’t need to figure this out before your consultation. I’ll evaluate your natural density, length, texture and goals, then recommend the number of rows your hair can safely support and your desired result actually requires.

What is the difference between weft extensions and K-tip extensions?

Weft extensions use a wider curtain of hair attached to a discreet beaded foundation. They are especially effective for adding a noticeable amount of length and fullness through the back and sides of the hair.K-tips are small, individual strands attached with keratin bonds. Because each strand moves independently, they can be placed in areas where a full weft may not fit or where more targeted coverage is needed.Wefts generally require regular move-up appointments, while K-tips are worn for several months before being removed and replaced. Both can create beautiful, natural-looking results—the biggest difference is how the hair is attached, where it can be placed and how it is maintained.

How much do hair extensions cost?

Most Signature 1 XL Row transformations range from approximately $1,200–$1,500 for the hair and initial installation. Two-row transformations typically begin around $2,000.K-tip pricing is customized because the amount of hair can vary significantly. Someone adding a small amount around the sides or temples will need a very different number of strands than someone receiving a full K-tip transformation. Hybrid pricing also depends on the amount of weft hair and number of K-tips used.You’ll receive a complete recommendation and customized quote after your consultation, so you’ll understand the investment before any hair is ordered.

Can I wear extensions if I have fine or thin hair?

Possibly. Fine hair can wear extensions, but the method, weight, bond size and placement have to be appropriate for the amount of natural hair available to support them.A carefully placed weft can create fullness using one concentrated attachment area. Lightweight K-tips can be customized into very small sections and may work well when coverage is needed around the sides or temples. In some cases, a combination of the two provides the most balanced result.My priority is always the health and integrity of your natural hair. If I don’t believe either method can be worn safely, I’ll be honest with you.

Neither wefts nor K-tips should damage healthy hair when the correct method and amount of hair are selected, the extensions are installed properly and maintenance instructions are followed.Damage is more likely when too much weight is added, attachments are placed on hair that cannot safely support them, maintenance is delayed or the extensions are brushed and styled improperly.I’m not interested in giving you beautiful extension hair at the expense of your real hair. Protecting your natural hair and scalp influences every decision I make, from the method and amount of hair used to the placement and maintenance schedule.

How often do hair extensions need maintenance?

Weft extensions are typically moved up every six to eight weeks, depending on your growth, density, lifestyle and installation.K-tips do not receive traditional move-ups. They remain in place as your hair grows and are removed after several months. At that point, new bonds are installed if you choose to continue wearing them.Hybrid clients will return for regular weft maintenance while the K-tips continue growing between their own removal and replacement appointments. I’ll create a maintenance schedule based on the exact methods used in your installation.

How do color and extension maintenance appointments work?

Whenever possible, your natural-hair color and extension maintenance can be completed during the same appointment.For weft clients, the row is removed or repositioned so I can refresh your natural color, tone the extension hair if needed and reinstall everything for a seamless blend. Because color needs vary—from a simple root refresh to extensive blonding—the appointment length and price are based on the amount of color and extension work required.K-tips are not moved up. Routine color can often be maintained while the bonds remain installed, although major color changes or extensive blonding may need to be coordinated with your K-tip removal and replacement appointment.When booking, let me know that you need both color and extension maintenance so enough time is reserved. The goal is to handle everything in one well-planned appointment.

Can you match naturally wavy or curly hair?

Yes. I have curly hair myself! Both wefts and K-tips are available in a variety of textures, and I also offer single-donor hair options when appropriate.Rather than expecting you to straighten or completely restyle your natural hair every day, I look for extension hair that works with your existing wave or curl pattern. Because texture varies so much from person to person, naturally wavy and curly transformations are carefully customized during the consultation process.
